To maintain a consistently high quality product, XR requires all material to be supplied to the following specifications:

File Type

• Quicktime (.mov)
• Apple ProRes HQ 444 or 422 10bit
• Uncompressed
• Animation

Audio Specifications

To achieve the highest sound quality for cinema we recommend:

5.1 stems (wav) with 6 individual stems / channels with audio mixed to L, R, C, LFE, Ls and Rs channels respectively, for example:

• Left - music, stereo imaging, panning of effects
• Right - music, stereo imaging, panning of effects
• Centre - dialogue / VO
• LFE (Low Frequency Effects) - sub bass effects / low frequency effects
• Left surround - ambience, spatial effects, audience immersion
• Right surround - ambience, spatial effects, audience immersion

OR Stereo Mix accepted (Audio conversion fee will apply for stereo to 5.1 upmix)

Image Sequence

DPX, JPEG2000, TGA, TIFF (please include reference .mov file)

Video File Specifications

• Frame Rate: 24 or 25fps (25fps requires conversion to 24fps Video conversion fee will apply)
• Aspect Ratio: 16:9 (1.78:1)
• Scan Type/Field: Progressive
• DCI Digital: Size: 1998 x 1080 (cinema widescreen 2K resolution)
• HD Video: Size: 1920 x 1080
• SD Video (Video conversion fee will apply): Size: 1024

Required DCI Specifications

Please be advised material, not to cinema widescreen 2K resolution will be cropped

Deadlines

• Our Cinema Material Deadlines:
• Monday to Friday - 9 am to 5 pm
• Val Morgan Cinema Material Deadlines: by 3 pm the Thursday prior to the Thursday week commencing date

Sending to XR

• Image sequence files transferred to XR must be zipped
• Do not upload folders of any kind
• Please use Cinema URL provided HERE
• Please label your file and use the Advertiser_Campaign Name as your filename (ie. XR_CinemaAds.mov)

Essential Information

• NO 4:3 Aspect ratios / NO Dual mono audio
• Audio must conform to the video source
• Audio Loudness: an average of 82dB (based on Dolby leqA measurement)

Additional Information

• Deliveries to Val Morgan MUST have a VMID number
• Other Cinemas/ DCP Creation orders can be booked as additional service and DCP on the link provided to the nominated contact
• Viewing facility can be scheduled upon request directly with Val Morgan
• Please contact Cinema Services if you would like to supply material in another way or provide material in a different file format
• Please note, the quality of the final output may be affected.
• Val Morgan requires a title safe area guide that requires all important elements (texts, supers, essential graphics, logos) to be within 80% of the width and height of the active picture area.
